The Allies have taken Stetten and Bremen. Various committees are viewing the German "horror camps". Eugene kept quiet for five minutes and got a piece of chocolate.

General Hodges 1st American Army and Marshal Konev's 1st Ukranian Army made an historic junction today at 10 AM at Torgau.

There's a picture inserted between these two paragraphs; see the scanned-in page. Not sure why here, since the picture is seven months old, per the dating; it is entitled "Eugene and Sylvia in Sept. '44", and says on it "Woodlawn", which is a large park in the North Bronx where we spent hordes of weekend days.  This is the first time, but he pastes many, many pictures, and other stuff, in the journal.
