Col. Devereaux Wake Island hero and Admiral Nimitz are being hailed feted and honored here. Telephone workers are striking but a company union is behind them. Studio strikers at Warner Bros were attacked by the police. The Japanese cabinet has resigned. Lillian and the kids visited Miss Karmen at the hospital. Had a discussion with Eugene on his future vocation. His preference was street car motorman as he doesn't use a wheel while a subway motorman and bus driver do. A doctor was a pretty good profession he thought while a post-office clerk doesn't get enough sleep. Sylvia got an apron from Ernie Koslan.
In family reminiscences, my childhood preference was always stated as "streetcar conductor". Don't know who "Miss Karmen" was. I believe I've mentioned that Dad was a post-office clerk!
My father started a "diary" in 1945 (more accurately, a journal, covering both family and current events), and I'm going to see if this is a decent way to publish it. Since I'm doing it as a blog, to get to the beginning of the journal, you have to go to the beginning of the blog.
