My father started a "diary" in 1945 (more accurately, a journal, covering both family and current events), and I'm going to see if this is a decent way to publish it. Since I'm doing it as a blog, to get to the beginning of the journal, you have to go to the beginning of the blog.

9/16 Sunday
We all eat lunch together occasionally these days. Eugene licks his platters clean but Sylvia has to be helped along as she "falls asleep" while eating. We went out today and took quite a walk, Eugene wheeling the carriage a bit. De Gaulle is the sponsor of a Western Bloc of nations in Europe which would be opposed to the Soviet Union. A 150 mile hurricane is hitting Florida. Lillian finished "The Sun is my Undoing" by Marguerite Steen. Good picaresque story. Eugene is getting argyrol packs for his sinus.
