My father started a "diary" in 1945 (more accurately, a journal, covering both family and current events), and I'm going to see if this is a decent way to publish it. Since I'm doing it as a blog, to get to the beginning of the journal, you have to go to the beginning of the blog.

Starting a week's vacation today. Isolationist Bennett Champ Clark has been appointed to a high juridical position and Wm. H. Davis dismissed as Economic Stabilizer. The latter had recently recommended 50% increases for labor. Eugene was Burl Ives again today. When Lillian scolded him for leaving clay around, he complained that she mustn't yell at Burl Ives so or he wouldn't sing anymore. Sylvia was talking about germans. When Lillian called her a german Sylvia said "Why don't you shoot me". Pop & Mom came over and I argued late with Pop.
