My father started a "diary" in 1945 (more accurately, a journal, covering both family and current events), and I'm going to see if this is a decent way to publish it. Since I'm doing it as a blog, to get to the beginning of the journal, you have to go to the beginning of the blog.

MacArthur has ordered sweeping reforms in Japan: release of political prisoners, abolish the secret police, discharge the home minister Yamazaki. The "Daily News" wants American spies in Russia and its columnist O'Donnell blames outstanding Jews for Patton's removal. Bus drivers are receiving retroactive increases. Laval's antics have caused his ejection from the courtroom as his trial opens. Darnand has been sentenced to death. Eugene went for his second injection.
