Chiang and the Communists have agreed to call a Political Council representing all elements which will discuss the reconstruction of China and the establishment of a National Assembly which will frame a Constitution. Quislings are in control in Burma. In the American League, Hank Greenberg's homerun in the ninth inning against the Browns with the bases loaded won the pennant for the Tigers on the last day of the schedule. The Senators with their schedule finished several days ago, were second. Over 50,000 participated in a Zionist rally in the "Garden" to press for unrestricted Jewish immigration in Palestine. Eugene complained of being tired on coming home from school. Sylvia keeps asking for a doll-carriage. Both children napped after lunch.
