10/11

Mollie was over yesterday. She asked Sylvia if she would come home with her. "Mommie needs a little girl" was her answer. "Well, Mommie can buy another little girl", said Mollie. "You buy another little girl" was the little rascal's retort. The Tigers have beaten the Cubs 4-3 in a poorly played World Series. Labor and progressive groups are criticizing the projected tax program. Eugene felt tired today. Peron is out in Argentina with the situation as yet unchanged. 600 Hollywood pickets have been arrested. Czech Communists won the most seats in the electoral college. Norwegian Communists are being represented for the first time. In Hungary the resistance movement has won the great majority of the seats. Palestine unrest is increasing. L. Budenz has left the "Daily" to return to the Catholic Church! Lillian and the kids went to Betsy Demoff's party and had a nice time.

That's the first time I remember seeing an exclamation point! The "Daily" is the "Daily Worker".
