My father started a "diary" in 1945 (more accurately, a journal, covering both family and current events), and I'm going to see if this is a decent way to publish it. Since I'm doing it as a blog, to get to the beginning of the journal, you have to go to the beginning of the blog.

We went to the Zoo today visiting the children's zoo. Young anti semitic hoodlums have attacked Jewish children in Brighton with police indifference. The Japanese signed formal surrender papers today. The United States - Soviet international chess match started today. Each team, consisting of the first ten players is playing in its own country. Franz Ziereis head of thirty death camps where 1,500,000 were killed has been shot while trying to escape from U.S. captors. Argentine inspire terror is sweeping Paraguay. Fascist 'Integralistas' have revived their party in Brazil. American prisoners in Japan are in a pathetic condition, starved, beaten, tortured. Spanish C.P. is not participating in Giral's provisional gov't-in-exile.
