3/6

Eugene led exercises today. A kindergarden song "Click, clock, wooden shoes, off to market, Gretchen goes. Flat, fleet, soft & neat, basket full of posies, sweet." Eugene and I pasted war stamps alternately into a book. Lillian calls Sylvia "Sweetie Pie" - I call her [Yiddish], Uncle Sam - monkey face Isabella - honeysuckle, Momma - [Yiddish]. Momma used to call Eugene [Yiddish], Sam - [Yiddish], I called him [Yiddish], Lillian - sweetheart, Mollie [Yiddish].

I can't read the Hebrew script used for Yiddish, but I've scanned in those pages. Isabella is my cousin (daughter of my mother's brother Meyer (Mike) Modelson, and his wife Evelyn Dizon. She's a bit younger than me, so I'm not sure if someone else is meant here.
