My father started a "diary" in 1945 (more accurately, a journal, covering both family and current events), and I'm going to see if this is a decent way to publish it. Since I'm doing it as a blog, to get to the beginning of the journal, you have to go to the beginning of the blog.

Eugene in bed with a slight cold. Sylvia's cute trick: Recites a poem ending "the good George Washington" - then she says "who said "ton" with a shriek and screwed up face. Eugene saw "Heil Hitler" written on a bus by some prankster and wanted to know what it meant. Cologne has been captured by the Americans - most of it has been devastated by our air raids.
