Went over to Momma's today. Aunt Rose was there. Saw Susan Gail. She's getting real pretty. Sylvia looks adorable in her new hair comb. Von Bock found dead on battlefield. Sylvia complained "You never give me parachute (asparagus) soup". Lillian read "Black Boy" by Richard Wright. Terrific indictment of the South. Finished "We're In This With Russia" by United Press Correspondent Wallace Carrol [sic]. Very good account of events leading up to the war and the issues confronting us in the peace. Labor has been meeting on the coast. It has formed a world organization called the World Federation of Trade Unions. Has not yet been able to get representation in any form at San Francisco.
I don't know who "Aunt Rose" was.
My father started a "diary" in 1945 (more accurately, a journal, covering both family and current events), and I'm going to see if this is a decent way to publish it. Since I'm doing it as a blog, to get to the beginning of the journal, you have to go to the beginning of the blog.
