My father started a "diary" in 1945 (more accurately, a journal, covering both family and current events), and I'm going to see if this is a decent way to publish it. Since I'm doing it as a blog, to get to the beginning of the journal, you have to go to the beginning of the blog.

My sister Lillian called up and Sylvia told Eugene to ask how Uncle Harry is. Some of Sylvia's puns: she calls her bunny "bunnysuckle" (her cousin Isabelle calls her "honeysuckle"). Sylvia also said "I'm waiting for you in the wading pool". She was the first to say "Mom goes the weasel". A kindergarden song: "Sing, sing, everybody sing, for we're so happy today. We love our school, we love our room, in K.G. we love to stay". Finished "The Cross and the Arrow" by Albert Maltz. A German worker awakens to the mass corruption of the German people and in his atonement offers hope for a future democratic Germany. A superb novel.
