2/23/45

More kindergarden songs: "Here we go 'round the Mulberry bush" etc. Worked early today and got four hours off to donate blood to Red Cross (It was third time). Felt faint as usual for about ten minutes after, then was all right. Brought home some water color reproductions and the Golden Dictionary for Eugene. Joyce, Vivian and Gloria were up playing with Eugene when I got home. Sylvia as usual wouldn't go in the same room with them. Reps. Rankin and Hook clashed on the floor fo the House. Rankin is the leading racist in Congress. Hook is a liberal. Lillian went to the "movies". She saw Music for Millions with Jose Iturbi, Jimmy Durante, Marg. O'Brien. Beautiful piano music but a hackneyed plot. Lillian finished V. Pozner's "First Harvest" history of the German occupation of France.

Joyce Gallins (now Pontbriand) was a downstairs neighbor, a couple of years older than me. I remember the name "Vivian", but not her last name or age.
