My father started a "diary" in 1945 (more accurately, a journal, covering both family and current events), and I'm going to see if this is a decent way to publish it. Since I'm doing it as a blog, to get to the beginning of the journal, you have to go to the beginning of the blog.

Italian Socialist leader Nenni has been arrested by the British for speaking without a permit in Italian Amgot territory. Eugene a skipping schoolboy. What a lovely sight to see his bright shining face as he rushes to school to catch the line before it goes in and pig-tailed Sylvia with her saucy tongue and ready answers sitting in her kiddie car in the yard or climbing up and down a couple of the yard steps. The kids are going to Bobbie Rosenberg's birthday party today.

This might be my favorite entry so far. The language describing you two is so evocative, yet not flowery, and you really can feel the fatherly love in it.
