4/22 Sunday

Went down with the kids in the morning. They played Subway, sitting on the park bench and getting on and off each subway as it passed. Went over to mother's in afternoon and visited Lilly to see Susan Gail. She has had a swollen eye for a couple of days. We have taken Nuremberg. The Red Army has entered Berlin. Lillian went to the movies and saw ("A Song to Remember". A story of Chopin's life. Paul Muni as his teacher and Iturbi the pianist.) She saw "Objective Burma" instead - a film based on the Burma campaign with Errol Flynn and Henry Hull. Great film.

This is the way the entry is, with large parentheses around a movie that appears that my mother was supposed to see, but he found out later than she saw something else, but did not cross out the entry.
