My father started a "diary" in 1945 (more accurately, a journal, covering both family and current events), and I'm going to see if this is a decent way to publish it. Since I'm doing it as a blog, to get to the beginning of the journal, you have to go to the beginning of the blog.

The Red Army has taken Koenigsberg. Americans are now being found slaughtered and emaciated after being German prisoners. The Germans have dug their own grave. Eugene asked Lillian today who came out of her "belly" first, he or Sylvia. Went over to Lilly to see Susan Gail as she came home about 1:30 today. The baby has blown up cheeks. Then went to Mollie's to take Sylvia back home. Sylvia is her effusive self. Eugene is very sober. Mollie got Eugene a ten pin set and Sylvia a shovel and pail, paint book & bonnet. Lilly went over to see the new baby and came back with Sadie. Had ice cream and discussed world situations.
