My father started a "diary" in 1945 (more accurately, a journal, covering both family and current events), and I'm going to see if this is a decent way to publish it. Since I'm doing it as a blog, to get to the beginning of the journal, you have to go to the beginning of the blog.

3/25 (Sunday)
Went downtown in the morning with the kids to Grand St. for wool for my tennis sweater. Got 15 balls at 25¢ a ball. Gave the kids lunch in a Delancey St. Cafeteria and had a bite ourselves. Then to Mothers where we ate again. We have crossed the Rhine in great force and are "blitzing" along. Patton is turning out to be the great U.S. general.
