My father started a "diary" in 1945 (more accurately, a journal, covering both family and current events), and I'm going to see if this is a decent way to publish it. Since I'm doing it as a blog, to get to the beginning of the journal, you have to go to the beginning of the blog.

Mayor Jeffries was re-elected over CIO man Frankenstein 274,435 to 216,917. Several hundred Jews were killed or injured in Tripoli riots. The Small Landholders Party won 191 seats in Hungarian elections. C.P. got 54, J.D. 52. Eugene learned "A'hunting We Will Go" in school. He is now a conductor instead of Burl Ives as he plays the records. Chinese Communists have defeated a Nationalist army. The IAM will grant industrial charters.
