1/28

I took Eugene to see Pinocchio again today which he enjoyed. Also saw "And Then There Were None" with Walter Huston, Barry Fitzgerald, Louis Hayward, June Duprez - an interesting murder mystery. Lillian went in the evening to see "Kiss and Tell" with Shirley Temple and Walter Abel - comedy and "Voice of the Whistler" with R. Dix - a dud. R.C.A. signed for 17 1/2¢ raise without a strike. Ford and Chrysler signed without strikes for 18¢ and 18 1/2¢ raises. The Popular Socialist Party (Com.) Convention in Cuba called Grau San Martin's rule liberal. Izvestia attacked the Vatican Cardinal elections as designed to aid reaction. Richard Monka comes up often to play with Eugene. Eugene made a jewelry box in school which we gave to Sylvia for her trinkets.

I didn't remember that I played often with Richard Monka.
