1/17

300,000 CIO packers and AFL butchers are out on strike. The wave of strikes all for increased wages to meet the higher cost of living is meeting with sympathy in entire towns and from Mayors, small business men and even the police in some instances. A large delegation of F.E.P.C. supporters will see many Congressmen in Washington. Eisenhower has promised all eligibles will be home by July 1. Gen. Mcnarney has banned any more GI demonstrations. Eugene has to be reprimanded for his rudeness very often now.
