11/21

Eugene borrowed "Little Indian Folk" by Deming and Friendly Village by O'Donnell & Carey. Sylvia was up and around the house today. Twenty leading Nazis went on trial. The Portugese [sic] elections, boycotted by the "left" found 56% voting. Lillian finished "The Turnbulls" by Taylor Caldwell. Sadie over with her mother-in-law troubles. The U.A.W. struck G.M. today after the latter refused last minute arbitration. Sylvia got a nice dress and Eugene a book from the Altschuler's. The President has projected a national health insurance program for adoption by Congress.

Wow, that last line is timely!
