There I lost to him and Walter Waldman. We went to the spring where the kids drank from my hands - Eleanor Lebost [?] included. Lil & Sylvia Cooke were also with us. Eugene and I played softball. We batted to each other, the fielder had to make 10 perfect fielding plays before he made 10 errors in order to get up. Eugene was able get up regularly after the first few times.

Then we went to Faith's apartment where I met Carla, Joyce and Sonny. Hymie flew in on time from the West. The doctor did not attend. Harry Goode came to the chapel. The Mexican head of UNESCO J.T. Bodet resigned with a blast at its failure to fight for peace. The U.S. filed a brief signed by the leading gov't lawmakers slamming authority to jail Communists without need to prove "clear and present danger".

Lillian had a bad backache yesterday and all night. Apparently it was muscular. She used sloans liniment and several aspirins. She got up early in the morning in agony and went to sleep on the sofa. She felt better in the morning. We went over to Mom's bringing a tie clasp for Pop for father's day. Also some roses for Mom. Rachel Mayer & David were also there. We had a nice supper of gefilte fish, kugel, etc. Dave Greenglass a 28 year old vet was arrested on a charge of conspiring to pass atomic secrets to Russia. Averill Harriman was named chief foreign adviser to Truman. A Federal Court deprived Bridges of his citizenship following his perjury conviction.
