My father started a "diary" in 1945 (more accurately, a journal, covering both family and current events), and I'm going to see if this is a decent way to publish it. Since I'm doing it as a blog, to get to the beginning of the journal, you have to go to the beginning of the blog.

Doenitz takes over Nazi command. Sylvia Lankford gave birth to a 5 lb 15 oz boy. Got a tablecloth through the mail from Mike & Evelyn.
The name sounds vaguely familiar, but I don't know who Sylvia Lankford was.
My father, you will remember, worked in a "dry goods" store (linens, towels). The tablecloth probably came from Rialto Retailers on Pitkin Ave. in Brooklyn.

ReplyDeleteYep, I do remember. I remember being told he had a tough boss, and had difficulty getting time off for family stuff.
