My father started a "diary" in 1945 (more accurately, a journal, covering both family and current events), and I'm going to see if this is a decent way to publish it. Since I'm doing it as a blog, to get to the beginning of the journal, you have to go to the beginning of the blog.

Eugene complained about too little meat today at lunch. He doesn't know there's a war on. Eugene went back to school today. Lillian finished "Deep River" by Henrietta Buckmaster, a story of solidarity between the poor whites and the negroes during the Civil War days. Lillian saw "A Tree Grows in Brooklyn" with James Dunn, Peggy Ann Garner, Joan Blondell, a story of economic insecurity's effect on a Brooklyn family.
