Most of the next page (two sides) is so torn as to make transcription impossible. Dad did continue "Events" on the inside back cover of the notebook, but I have decided not to bother with it, since it's just a repetition of what he wrote earlier; perhaps he did this section in order for him to have a way to go back and find things. There is also, at the end of each book, a list of "Deaths", in which he repeated the names and dates of the notables whose deaths he recorded; this one does not seem to start at the beginning of the book, and I have decided not to transcribe it as, again, it just repeats what he wrote earlier.
Accordingly, this is the end of Book 8.
